Summary: We have several redis clusters on EC2, one 64 node cluster, and some smaller ones that total to 84 nodes. [17:31:16] We used to have more than a terabyte of data in redis, but over time we've gotten that down to less than 100GB. So we want to replace all of these with a much smaller cluster, probably 16 nodes. [17:31:50] we're bouncing around ideas for doing this migration with no downtime, and something that's come up is (ab)using replication to collapse the cluster in stages. [23:39:41] I'm new to Redis and it appears that I have a race condition. The code I currently have uses an LPOP to get an item off of a list. I cannot find any information if LPOP is atomic, but it appears that there's a BLPOP that sounds like it could be atomic. Will the race condition go away if I use BLPOP instead?
